Role Description
As a Senior Health Safety Environment Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Your responsibilities will include conducting risk assessments, providing guidance on workplace safety practices, managing incident investigations, and maintaining documentation for HSE compliance. You will also lead training sessions, collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop safety initiatives, and support continuous improvement. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Baton Rouge, LA.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations, compliance standards, and best practices
- Experience in conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations
- Leadership and training skills to develop safety programs and conduct workshops
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining HSE documentation and standards
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Engineering, or a related field
- Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), or equivalent are highly desirable
- At least 5 years of experience in environmental health and safety roles, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings
