Qualifications
- 2–4 years of hands-on hardware engineering experience, or a new engineering grad
- Demonstrated experience cross mechanical, electrical, and firmware disciplines — robotics, embedded systems, or similar multi-domain projects preferred
- Proficiency in CAD and rapid prototyping tools including 3D printing, laser cutting, or fixture design
- Comfortable with hand tools, bench equipment, and a soldering iron
- Firmware or embedded systems experience (Raspberry Pi, microcontrollers) a plus
- Experience taking a hardware design from prototype to repeatable production build a plus
- Strong documentation habits — able to write clear SOPs and build documentation others can follow
- Self-directed and comfortable owning a problem end-to-end with minimal oversight
Responsibilities
- Prototype, build, and iterate on hardware for next-generation monitoring fleet (Gen2) and ARPA program modules — working directly alongside the CTO
- Take designs from initial concept through production-ready builds, maintaining quality and repeatability at each stage
- Diagnose and resolve hardware issues on deployed units both on-site and at customer locations
- Write and maintain SOPs and build documentation to enable repeatable manufacturing and field servicing
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to integrate and validate hardware designs
- Own the full lifecycle of assigned hardware builds — from bench prototype through customer deployment
