Job Overview
We are seeking a 2nd shift Charge Nurse to coordinate safe, compassionate patient care and support nursing staff throughout the shift. This role is suited to a nurse who communicates clearly, makes sound clinical decisions, and can respond calmly to changing patient needs. Your impact: By coordinating timely assessments and care, you help patients receive consistent support and give colleagues clear direction.
Schedule: MONDAY-FRIDAY NO WEEKENDS!!
Responsibilities
- Coordinate shift assignments, guide nursing staff, and communicate patient updates during handoffs.
- Assess patients, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and provide nursing interventions within scope and care plans.
- Respond to changes in condition, support triage and acute pain management, and escalate concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems while protecting confidentiality and following HIPAA requirements.
- Coordinate with caregivers and the care team on infection control, discharge planning, and continuity of care.
Requirements
- Current nursing licensure appropriate to the role and setting; required credentials should be confirmed by the employer.
- Nursing experience in a relevant care setting; long-term care, skilled nursing facility, hospital, or post-acute care experience is valuable.
- Patient assessment, medication administration, basic life support (BLS), and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills.
- Clear caregiver communication, sound judgment, and ability to lead a shift while maintaining patient-centered care.
- Familiarity with EHR or electronic medical record (EMR) systems is preferred. Experience with geriatric patients, dementia or memory care, and hospice.
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
