Employment OpportunitiesThe City of Solon is accepting lateral applications for the position of Patrol Officer for the Solon Police Department. Only the first 50 applications submitted will be accepted. Applications will be graded against a scoring matrix provided by Clancy & Associates, and the top 20 candidates will participate in a panel interview on either August 13th or 14th 2026 to finalize a Civil Service list.QualificationsAt least two full‑time years of law enforcement service.Current full‑time police officer with OPOTA certification or separated from active service no longer than one year.Minimum of high school diploma or GED.Valid driving privileges.Good moral character with no history of felony or misdemeanor offenses.Excellent work ethic and service‑oriented attitude.Successfully complete a background investigation, truth analysis, and full psychological exams.Compensation and BenefitsStarting salary: $86,907.11.
