Position Overview: The Banquet Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless execution of banquets and private events at Solitude Mountain Resort. This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing setup, ordering necessary items, running assigned weddings, and acting as the main point of contact for the bridal couple once the event coordinator has concluded their duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Event Preparation & Setup:
• Oversee and manage the complete setup of wedding reception locations, including the arrangement of tables, chairs, linens, décor, lighting, and AV equipment according to the couple's specifications and resort standards.
• Collaborate with the event coordinator and banquet team to confirm layouts, timelines, and service expectations for each event.
• Ordering & Inventory Management:
• Order all necessary food, beverage, décor, and supplies for weddings and banquet events in a timely manner.
• Ensure all ordered items are received, inspected, and available prior to each event.
• Maintain accurate inventory of banquet supplies, avoiding shortages or excess.
• Event Execution:
• Lead and supervise banquet staff during weddings and banquets, ensuring service standards are upheld throughout the event.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the bridal couple after the event coordinator's departure, ensuring their needs are met and questions or concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
• Monitor the event timeline, coordinate service flow, and resolve any unexpected issues that may arise during the event.
• Team Leadership & Development:
• Train, support, and lead banquet servers, bartenders, and support staff to ensure a cohesive, efficient, and guest-focused team.
• Conduct pre-event briefings to ensure all staff are aware of event details, service expectations, and assignments.
• Uphold and enforce resort policies, safety guidelines, and customer service excellence at all times.
• Post-Event Break Down:
• Oversee post-event breakdown and reset of banquet spaces.
• Ensure all equipment is properly stored and that rental items are returned in good condition.
• Meetings & Coordination:
• Attend all relevant event meetings, including pre-event planning sessions, operational briefings, and post-event debriefings, to ensure clear communication and smooth event execution.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience supervising banquet or event operations, preferably in a resort or high-volume hospitality setting.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional customer service, open and honest communication especially during high pressure situations.
• In-depth knowledge of food and beverage service standards, including health and safety regulations.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
