Summary:

As a Laborer/ Fire Watch, you will be responsible for following Solidus Fabrications protocols and understanding each task before beginning work. Set up your workspace for a safe and contained environment. Execute your work like the badass professional you are. Clean up your workspace like you were never there. Repeat, get paid. Requirements before you can go to work- (Training will be provided to the right candidates)

· Fire Watch Training
Essential tasks:
· Setting up work areas with a high level of detail. NASEA ship repair requires protecting ships equipment and surrounding area from hot work being done. You will be the front line to that set up.
· Fire Watch. A Fire Watch is a vital role in conducting hot work operations. Training and certification will be provided to chosen candidates.
· Moving materials and equipment. Material and equipment move throughout the ship from job to job.
· Paint abetment. NAVSEA requires all painted surfaces be free of paint before hot work can be conducted.
· Cleaning work spaces. Always leave a workspace cleaner than you found it. Every shift.
· Able to work in the elements as well as confined spaces i.e. tight bilge spaces and double bottoms.
· Proficient with necessary tools required. Power tools, pneumatic tools, and hand tools.
· Use of required PPE, always. This includes hard hat (these jobs will require welding hood attached to hard hat), hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toed boots, and proper welding clothing. PPE falls into our zero-tolerance policy.
Basic Requirements:
· Reliable transportation
· Aptitude to learn the processes required
Preferred Experience:
· OSHA 10
· Fire Watch Training or experience
· Ship repair or new build experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
