What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journeyman Electrician position at SOLID Personnel?
About the Role:
We are currently hiring electricians who are experienced and comfortable with commercial electrical work, including gear work, distribution equipment, conduit installation, wire pulling, terminations, lighting, devices, HVAC power connections, controls rough-in, and general electrical rough-in/finish work.
We need Electricians who can work independently, follow plans, coordinate with the foreman, and safely handle commercial gear-related work.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Installation and support of electrical distribution equipment, including panels, transformers, switchgear, CT cabinet, service equipment, and related feeders
- Gear work, feeder installation, terminations, grounding, bonding, and testing support
- Lighting installation and lighting controls rough-in
- Power and device installation, including receptacles, GFCI devices, dedicated circuits, disconnects, and equipment connections
- HVAC power connections, safety switches, and related branch circuits
- Data/security ring and string rough-in
- Fire alarm stub-outs only, as required per plans
- Additional pending COR work, including 1st and 2nd floor added electrical scope, lighting revisions, added circuits, utility feeder conductors, site utility conduits, and transformer pad-related work
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of in commercial electrical work
- Proficiency in sizing conductors and conduits and using the NEC Code Book
- Experience handling electrical systems from low to high voltage up to 480 VAC; medium voltage experience is a plus
- Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics
- Strong knowledge of job site safety, with the ability to evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning, focusing on electrical hazards and safety procedures
- Reliable transportation and ability to report to the jobsite on time daily
- Valid driver’s license, Picture ID, or Passport
- Full PPE including hard hat, safety vest, Safety Toe Work Boot, gloves, and safety glasses
- Trade specific tools required
- Ability to follow safety protocols and OSHA guidelines
