Ultrasound Technologist | Gastonia, North Carolina

An ultrasound technologist role is available on a contract basis in Gastonia, NC, offering the opportunity to perform a broad range of vascular and general ultrasound imaging studies. This position involves working 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week, specifically Friday through Sunday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with on-call responsibilities including consecutive call shifts every eighth week and weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive ultrasound imaging including vascular, general, OB/GYN, and ultrasound-guided invasive procedures such as paracentesis and thoracentesis.
• Conduct specialized vascular studies including ABI, WBI, TBI, carotid, AVF mapping, and more.
• Provide imaging services to inpatient, outpatient, observation, emergency department, and onsite rehab patients.
• Collaborate with radiologists onsite daily for study review and patient care.
• Maintain proficiency with department EMR (Epic), RIS (Epic Radiant), and PACS (Philips iSite) systems.
• Uphold clinical and safety standards in a dynamic hospital environment.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in ultrasound technology with vascular imaging expertise.
• Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-S).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and participate in holiday schedules (travelers cover approximately 75% of holidays).
• Comfortable with call-back requirements and weekend coverage.
