Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures, alleviating pre-test anxiety by explaining steps in clear, patient-friendly language
- Perform ultrasound imaging accurately and proficiently using up-to-date equipment
- Continuously observe and monitor patients during procedures to ensure safety and comfort
- Review prior imaging reports and patient charts carefully to inform current examinations
- Verify image quality and completeness of studies, applying appropriate imaging techniques and alerting physicians as needed
- Maintain detailed records and logs of all exams performed
- Manage inventory control and coordinate supply purchases within the ultrasound department
- Fulfill additional duties assigned to support department operations
- Proven experience in general ultrasound imaging with proficiency in patient care
- Attention to detail in image acquisition and record-keeping
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members
- Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment
