Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Deliver specialized nursing care in a dynamic orthopedic operating room environment, providing essential support for elective and add-on cases. Position Type: Travel Nursing Role
Schedule:
- Daylight shifts with weekly rotation:
5:30 AM 2:00 PM
6:30 AM 3:00 PM
7:30 AM finish (includes elective and add-on cases) - On-call weekend coverage: 6:00 AM 6:00 PM (2 weekends required within a 6-week schedule)
- No weekday on-call; however, the 7:30 AM shift extends as needed to complete add-on cases (typically up to 1-2 hours, rarely beyond 2 hours).
Responsibilities:
- Assist surgical teams in two orthopedic ORs, planning and preparing for elective and emergency add-on cases
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of six (three RNs, three scrub techs)
- Manage call coverage on weekends with a focus on prompt response without a heavy call volume
- Maintain high standards of patient care, safety, and operating room protocol
- Adapt to fluctuating case schedules, including occasional extended shifts
