As a Travel RN for the Progressive Care Unit, you'll be immersed in a dynamic environment at a 15-bed unit, covering both stepdown ICU and telemetry. Here, you’ll engage with different healthcare practices and interact with a variety of leaders, broadening your clinical expertise and boosting your resume with transferable skills. Floating to other acute units—such as Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER—means continuous learning and the opportunity to adapt across specialties.
Schedule:
- Must arrive in Keaau the Thursday before start date for required pre-assignment appointment
- Scheduled for 36 hours per week after orientation
- Flexible start times, but no call required
Qualifications:
- Active HI RN license required (may apply upon acceptance if needed)
- At least 1 year recent acute hospital experience; stepdown/telemetry background preferred
- ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications preferred
- Proficient in primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring/strip reading, fingerstick blood sugar
- Experience with Meditech, Pyxis, BIPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring systems
Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based care to progressive care and stepdown ICU patients
- Monitor telemetry, interpret cardiac rhythms, perform bedside procedures
- Float and adapt to a variety of acute care units as needed
