Telemetry Registered Nurse - Stockbridge, Georgia

A registered nurse with a strong background in telemetry nursing is needed for a contract position in Stockbridge, GA. This role involves caring for adult to geriatric patients in a busy medical-surgical telemetry unit with a focus on cardiac and related conditions.

Qualifications And Desired Experience

• Minimum of 1 year experience in telemetry nursing; first-time telemetry nurses not accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proficient in managing arrhythmias, cardioversion, and care for cardiac-related diagnoses including CHF, chest pain, and post-cardiac cath patients
• Experience with cardiac drips (amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, nitroglycerin, milrinone, heparin, argatroban, aggrastat, bumex, lasix)
• Familiarity with surgical and vascular patient care in an IMCU or similar setting
• Knowledgeable on renal and pulmonary conditions such as COPD, pulmonary edema, PE, and DVT
• Comfortable with hemodynamic monitoring and managing telemetry alarms, including stable arrhythmias (A-Fib, SVT, bradycardia)
• Experience using Epic (preferred), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Able to float within facility scope as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for up to six telemetry patients per shift in a 32-bed overflow IMCU unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and intervene as necessary including arrhythmia management and cardioversion
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips and manage hemodynamic monitoring devices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Respond promptly to call if required (rare; 2-hour response time)
• Work night shifts, 7 PM to 7 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Cover weekends every other week and major holidays as assigned
  
  

Contract Details

• Contract assignment with an orientation period based on assignment length
• Maximum 7-day return-to-orientation time
• Night shift work, 3x12-hour schedule
