Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments to develop and adjust individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and drips such as amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, and heparin safely according to protocols.
- Use critical telemetry equipment including Alaris pumps, LifPak defibrillators, Hoyer lifts, and glucometers.
- Serve as a patient advocate, coordinating care across interdisciplinary teams and ensuring quality and safety standards.
- Manage patient care in multi-system organ failure and trauma scenarios, utilizing clinical judgement to adapt rapidly to changing patient conditions.
- Participate in floating to other Med/Surg units as needed and maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios (1:4-5).
- Complete dysrhythmia exams and maintain certifications including ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Certification.
- Active RN license, preferably with compact state coverage.
- Minimum 1 year recent acute care and 1 year travel RN experience.
- Proficiency with EPIC Electronic Health Record system preferred.
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; CCRN or PCCN certification considered a plus.
- Experience in telemetry and pre/post Cath patient care is essential.
- Availability for 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend and major holidays.
