Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are visually impaired, adapting lessons to meet individual needs across itinerant settings.
- Collaborate closely with school district staff in Southern, South Eastern, and Dallastown as you travel between school sites.
- Assess students’ abilities, develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and regularly evaluate and document progress.
- Serve as a valued educational resource for teachers, staff, and families, offering expertise in accessible curriculum and technology.
- Participate in professional development and remain up-to-date on best practices in visual impairment education.
Qualifications:
- Current Pennsylvania teaching licensure for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is required.
- Experience supporting K-12 students in school settings preferred.
- Strong ability to adapt instruction and materials for students with visual impairments.
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills for partnering with staff, families, and external providers.
- Availability for the full assignment: August 18, 2026 – June 1, 2027.
