Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Mooresville, NC

This opportunity is for a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) serving K-12 students in Catawba County, North Carolina. This part-time, contract position involves providing specialized instruction and support to 12 students across nine schools, working approximately 20 hours per week. The role is primarily itinerant, requiring travel among multiple school locations within the district.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored instructional services to students with visual impairments, ensuring access to the general curriculum
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Conduct assessments and progress monitoring aligned with student needs
• Provide training and resources to school staff on strategies to support visually impaired learners
• Maintain detailed documentation and reports as required by the school system
  
  

Qualifications And Desired Experience

• Licensure or certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
• Experience instructing K-12 students with visual impairments
