Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Utilize assistive technology and communication methods such as sign language to facilitate learning
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapists, audiologists, and parents
- Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and reporting to stakeholders
- Create an inclusive, supportive learning environment that enhances student engagement and confidence
- Valid teaching credential with a specialization in Deaf Education or related field
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication techniques
