A part-time Teacher of the Visually Impaired is needed for an ongoing contract position in Quincy, MA. This role offers the opportunity to work within an elementary school setting, providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct visual education services totaling approximately 12 hours per month
- Manage a caseload of 4 elementary-aged students
- Conduct consultative services amounting to around 11.7 hours annually
- Collaborate closely with school staff in a single-school location to support student progress
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students unique needs
Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts state teaching certification in Visual Education is required
- Experience working with visually impaired students preferred
- Ability to design and adapt instructional materials for students with visual impairments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and school teams
