A contract position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to work in a school setting located in Cambridge, MA. This role requires specialized skills to support students with visual impairments, delivering tailored instruction and resources that meet their unique learning needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for visually impaired students.
  • Utilize specialized teaching techniques and assistive technologies to support student learning.
  • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to create an inclusive educational environment.
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and families on visual impairment accommodations and resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
  • Experience working directly with visually impaired students in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of visual impairment-related instructional methods and assistive technology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and educational teams.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts

This role is offered on a contract basis, providing an opportunity to apply specialized skills in a supportive school community. Interested candidates with the required qualifications and passion for helping visually impaired students succeed are encouraged to apply.

Compensation for this position ranges from $35.25 to $60.25. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
