Stepdown Registered Nurse | Franklin, Tennessee

This position offers an opportunity to provide specialized nursing care in a Stepdown unit within a busy medical center. The role is contract-based and is located in Franklin, Tennessee, with assignment duties at a nearby hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive post-cardiac catheterization care, including management of TR band applications
• Administer advanced pulmonary treatments and medication titration accurately
• Adhere to patient experience protocols such as AIDET communication, medication teaching, and maintaining communication boards
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including unit secretaries and one dedicated tech per shift
• Utilize electronic documentation systems (Meditech) and operate specific equipment like GE Monitors, Nova glucometers, and Pyxis medication dispensers
• Participate in unit staffing rotations and floating assignments alongside full-time staff and other travelers
• Maintain compliance with hospital trauma certification standards and unit-specific policies
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Licensed Registered Nurse with experience in Stepdown or similar critical care units
• Proficiency in care of TR bands post-cardiac cath procedures
• Advanced skills in pulmonary treatments and medication titration
• Certification in BLS and ACLS required
• Strong teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and a positive attitude essential

• Every other weekend shifts required as part of the rotation

• Charcoal gray scrubs as the required attire
