Staff Pharmacist - Dubuque, Iowa

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1 years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time retail pharmacist position is open for a 13-week assignment starting July 13 in Dubuque, Iowa. This role involves floating between several pharmacy locations in Iowa, including Dubuque, Preston, Bellevue, Independence, and Monticello, requiring flexibility to travel up to approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Dubuque.

Schedule And Hours

• Monday through Friday, 1st shift
• Occasional half-day Saturdays as needed
• Shift hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  
  

Responsibilities include dispensing medications accurately and safely under the supervision of the pharmacy manager, providing patient counseling on medications and regimens, responding to patient inquiries and concerns, maintaining stock and controlled substance inventories, and resolving issues related to third-party coverage.

The Dubuque site is the busiest, processing approximately 2,800 to 3,000 prescriptions daily, while the other rural sites handle about 600 prescriptions each day.

Desired Experience And Qualifications

• Active Iowa pharmacist license
• Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy experience
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume pharmacy environment
• Familiarity with McKesson Enterprise software is a plus
