Responsibilities Include
- Conducting thorough assessments and providing direct therapy for speech, language, and swallowing disorders
- Completing detailed patient documentation such as evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries
- Coordinating with insurance providers to verify coverage and benefits
- Preparing thoroughly for each evaluation and treatment session
- Educating interdisciplinary staffincluding nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service personnelon patient care recommendations and current research findings
- Developing and delivering in-service educational presentations to staff
