Step into a rewarding contract role serving school communities as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time opportunity near Bridgeport, CT offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in students’ communication skills while maintaining an excellent work-life balance. You’ll be engaged two days a week, working a total of 13 hours, supporting students’ growth and collaborating closely with speech-language pathologists and educational teams.

Qualifications

  • Active SLPA credentials recognized by the state
  • Demonstrated experience working in school-based settings
  • Strong knowledge of speech and language developmental milestones
  • Excellent communication skills when working with children, families, and other staff
  • Ability to follow directions from supervising SLP and implement individualized treatment plans

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students with speech, language, and communication needs under the supervision of a licensed SLP
  • Carry out prescribed therapy activities in both group and individual settings
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to reinforce language goals
  • Assist in developing engaging materials and activities tailored to individual student plans
  • Participate in team meetings and ongoing training sessions to stay current with best practices
