Special Education Teacher in Olathe, KS

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available to support a Middle School classroom specializing in the LIFT program focused on low incidence Autism. This contract role is ideal for educators with an active Kansas Special Education License seeking to make a meaningful impact in a specialized learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized instruction and support to students enrolled in the LIFT program
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students with low incidence Autism
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address students educational and behavioral needs
• Maintain detailed records of student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
• Foster an inclusive and nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes student growth and development
  
  

Qualifications

• Current and active Kansas Special Education License
• Experience working with students in special education, particularly within Autism-focused programs, is preferred
• Strong understanding of low incidence disabilities and specialized instructional techniques
