Special Education Teacher in Fitchburg, MA

Located in Fitchburg, MA, this full-time contract position offers an opportunity to work with students in grades 3rd through 6th in a K-12 school setting. The role focuses on supporting students with severe autism, medical needs, and limited mobility, providing specialized educational services tailored to each child's unique requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with severe autism and additional medical or mobility challenges
• Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to promote communication, social skills, and academic growth
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, medical professionals, and families to optimize student outcomes
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all state and federal special education regulations
  
  

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Special Education License
• Experience working with students with severe autism, medical complexities, and limited mobility is preferred
• Strong knowledge of behavior management techniques and assistive technology
