A Special Education Teacher position is available for an Emotional Support classroom serving 3rd to 5th grades in a school located in Whitehall, PA. This is a contract role starting ASAP through June 10, 2026, offering 35 hours per week from 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Must hold a fully active Pennsylvania teaching certificate in Special Education; emergency permits are not accepted.
- Proven experience working with emotional support students in grades 3-5 is preferred.
- Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instructional support in an Emotional Support classroom.
- Develop and modify lesson plans to accommodate diverse student learning needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to enhance student success.
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation in accordance with district policies.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary.
