Bring your expertise in school social work to a rewarding contract opportunity supporting Pre-K to Kindergarten students. This position, located near Chicago, IL, is available immediately to cover a leave through early February. As a full-time social worker, you'll engage with young learners, helping them develop essential social and emotional skills during a critical period in their education.
Your schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:45 pm, starting October 23rd (or possibly sooner, depending on availability). You’ll make a genuine impact, liaising with teachers, staff, and families to foster a caring, supportive environment for the school’s youngest students.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure/certification as a School Social Worker
- Previous experience working with early childhood or elementary-aged students is preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and social-emotional learning
- Ability to implement crisis intervention and behavioral support strategies
- Familiarity with school-based services and resources
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social work services to Pre-K and Kindergarten students individually and in groups
- Support students’ social-emotional well-being and academic success
- Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, and families to develop plans that meet diverse student needs
- Participate in IEP meetings as needed, contributing to evaluation and planning processes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation
- Respond proactively to student concerns and participate in crisis intervention when necessary
