Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A dynamic opportunity is available for experienced nursing professionals skilled in Operating Room Technology within a contract role. The position is based in the Brownsville, PA area, supporting a comprehensive surgical department that operates multiple OR suites focusing on a variety of specialty procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in orthopedic surgeries with proficiency in total joint replacements (hips and knees).
- Support multiple surgical specialties including general surgery, vascular, urology, ENT, endoscopy, gynecology, and ophthalmology.
- Work closely with surgical teams to ensure smooth case flow, adherence to sterile techniques, and patient safety.
- Participate in weekend coverage and call rotations with defined response times.
- Utilize Cerner for EMR documentation, transitioning to Epic and OpTime systems shortly.
- Maintain compliance with current certification and licensing regulations, including BLS.
- Potentially perform scrubbing duties; while RNs are not required to scrub, this is considered an advantage.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse or Surgical Technologist with experience in orthopedic cases, general surgery, and urology procedures.
- Proficiency level of 3 or higher in total joint surgeries.
- Current BLS certification required; CST certification preferred or willingness to pursue.
- Experience with EMR systems (Cerner, Epic) advantageous.
- Ability to meet a 45-minute call response time and participate in weekend and holiday rotations per the outlined schedule.
- Valid drivers license required for local submission compliance.
