Qualifications:
- Valid and current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Alabama
- Previous experience in school-based OT is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with both school and home health OT practices
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to build rapport quickly with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Skill in creating, documenting, and evaluating individualized treatment plans
Role Highlights:
- Assess students’ needs and develop individualized intervention plans to enhance life skills, fine/gross motor abilities, sensory processing, and participation in educational activities
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services, both individually and in small groups
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure carryover of therapeutic strategies
- Maintain accurate service documentation and contribute to IEP meetings as required
- Educate and empower teachers and parents on supportive strategies and modifications
- Adapt equipment, classroom materials, and activities for optimal student access
