School Behavior Specialist in Des Plaines, IL

This opportunity is for a contracted Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) position in a school setting located in Des Plaines, Illinois. The role is designed for professionals with experience supporting students through behavior intervention services, working closely alongside Behavior Specialists.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one behavior support services to elementary students in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Implement behavior intervention plans and collect accurate data on student progress
• Collaborate with teachers, Behavior Specialists, and other school staff to promote a positive learning environment
• Participate in team meetings and provide detailed reports on behavioral goals and outcomes
• Follow all school protocols and maintain confidentiality of student information
  
  

Qualifications

• Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required
• Previous experience working with children in a school or behavioral setting preferred
• Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and behavior management techniques
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs
  
  

Schedule & Location:

• Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks
• Approximately 35 hours per week
• Contract position through the 2025/26 school year, ending June 12, 2026
• Located in the North Chicago area, Des Plaines, Illinois
