School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) | Jewett City, Connecticut

A Registered Nurse with experience in school nursing is needed for a contract position in Jewett City, CT. This role is ideal for an RN who is passionate about supporting childrens health and well-being within an educational environment. The nurse will provide essential health services, manage health plans, and collaborate with school staff to ensure a safe and healthy learning atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and first aid for students during school hours
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Conduct health screenings and monitor student health conditions
• Develop and implement individualized health plans for students with chronic conditions
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student health needs
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with school policies and regulations
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate appropriate care or referrals
  
  

Qualifications And Experience

• Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
• Previous school nursing experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of pediatric health issues and school health programs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and families
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
