Core Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with diagnoses including diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, and post-surgical recovery (general, ortho, trauma).
- Manage clinical tasks such as tracheostomy care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and drips including insulin and heparin titrated to heart rate.
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments and effectively manage time to support patient care needs.
- Perform cardiac monitoring, IV insertion, and ongoing maintenance while coordinating care with an interdisciplinary team.
- Assist in discharge planning and patient education to promote positive health outcomes.
- Float across all med-surg/telemetry units as needed to support staffing and patient care.
- Current RN license with 2 or more years in Med-Surg/Telemetry nursing experience.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred (completion of EKG competency required during onboarding).
- Certification in med-surg nursing is a plus.
- Proficient in EMR systems, particularly EPIC, and experience with Alaris IV pumps and Phillips monitors.
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to work effectively with healthcare teams.
- 12-hour night shifts (1900-0700), working 36 hours weekly.
- Weekend rotation includes 5-6 shifts out of every 12 on a 6-week schedule.
- Holiday coverage includes one shift for major holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day.
- No on-call or call-back requirements.
