Retail Pharmacy Tech | Glendale, Arizona

A specialty pharmacy is seeking two experienced Specialty Pharmacists to support patients with rare and orphan diseases by dispensing high-cost, uncommon medications. This contract opportunity is available for an immediate start and runs approximately 13 weeks, with the possibility of transitioning to direct hire.

This role requires candidates who have hands-on experience working specifically within a specialty pharmacy settingnot retail pharmacists with only specialty drug experience. Ideal candidates will have worked in specialty retail and/or specialty mail order pharmacies and have strong capabilities navigating complex clinical and reimbursement processes. You will be empowering patients and providers by facilitating medication approvals, assisting with payment programs, grants, and rebates, ensuring critical treatments are accessible.

Key Qualifications And Experience

• Active, clear Arizona pharmacist license in good standing
• Proven specialty pharmacy experience with a focus on rare or orphan diseases
• Proficiency with McKesson Enterprise (ERx) specialty pharmacy system preferred
• Strong clinical knowledge paired with excellent communication skills for high-touch patient and provider interactions
• Demonstrated ability to manage complicated medication approval and funding processes

Responsibilities

• Dispense specialty medications to patients with rare diseases accurately and compliantly
• Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and patients to support drug access and adherence
• Navigate insurance approvals, grants, rebates, and other financial assistance programs
• Maintain meticulous records in specialized pharmacy systems
