Active Respiratory Therapist license and 2 years of in-patient hospital Respiratory Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Respiratory Therapist is needed for a contract position based in Nampa, ID, providing care within a prehensive respiratory therapy unit. This role requires a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification; Certified Respiratory Therapists (CRT) are not acceptable. The position involves delivering respiratory treatments to a diverse patient population including NICU Level IIb, MICU, pediatrics, adults, geriatrics, PACU, and overnight oximetry cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform approximately 25-28 treatments per 8-hour shift
- Administer arterial blood gases (ABGs) via radial or brachial puncture
- Manage respiratory equipment including Drager V500, Hamilton, ReVel, V60s, Vapotherm, and EPOC devices
- Assist with intubation procedures but not perform independently
- Float between various specialized units such as ICU, MICU, MS-Tele, ER, and sister facilities within a 50-mile radius
- Participate in unit-specific orientation, typically 1-2 shifts with a preceptor
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- RRT certification required; must hold BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; NRP required for NICU care
- Minimum two years of experience preferred
- fortable floating across multiple specialties including NICU Level II and emergency pediatrics
- Able to initiate CPAP in deliveries and stabilize pediatric patients in the ER ready for transfer
- Familiarity with self-scheduling and flexibility to fill staffing gaps; weekend and holiday rotation participation expected
- Accepts first-time travelers willing to adapt to hospital environment
Schedule & Location:
- Shifts include Days (7:00 AM 7:30 PM), Evenings (11:00 AM 11:30 PM), and Nights (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend and some holiday work required
- Optional on-call with a 30-minute response time
