Remote Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Maryland

A K-12 educational opportunity is available for a professional specializing in instruction for students who are visually impaired. This position utilizes telehealth methods to deliver specially designed instruction and support within a structured school environment, serving a caseload of approximately 20-25 students.

Location: Westminster, Maryland

Duration: Contract through 6/30/2026

Work Hours: 35-40 hours per week, aligned with school schedules (options between 7:30 am4:00 pm)

Setting: Pre-K through Grade 12 with braille transcriber support for each student onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and deliver specially designed instruction according to individual education plans (IEPs)
• Provide direct teaching and consultative services addressing diverse visual impairment needs
• Participate in 504 plan development and lead IEP meetings
• Adapt instruction to accommodate a wide range of cognitive abilities, collaborating with onsite TVI staff for students with complex challenges
• Manage caseload remotely using telehealth tools while ensuring effective interaction and progress monitoring
  
  

Desired Qualifications

• Maryland state teaching certification or licensure with endorsement as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement curriculum tailored to students with visual impairments
• Experience with telehealth delivery methods preferred
