Key Responsibilities Include
- Providing clear and effective sign language interpretation during teletherapy sessions
- Facilitating communication between the student and educators, ensuring accessibility
- Working closely with school staff to accommodate the students specific communication needs
- Minimum Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher
- Must be registered with or actively pursuing registration through the Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH)
- Eligibility for KCDHH registration requires one of the following: EIPA or Educational Specialist in Sign Language/Interpreting (ESSE) score of 4.0 or above National certification such as Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), advanced BEI level, KQAS Level 4 or higher, Certified Deaf Interpreter, or Qualified Video Remote Interpreter
