Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled sign language interpretation through telehealth platforms to support educational access
- Facilitate clear communication between student, educators, and support staff in a virtual environment
- Adapt interpretation styles to meet the unique needs of a middle school student with intellectual disabilities
- Maintain compliance with state registration and professional standards
- Participate in ongoing communication and collaboration with educational professionals
- A minimum EIPA score of 3.5 or higher is required
- Must register or be registered with the Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH)
- To register with KCDHH, candidates need one of the following: EIPA 4.0 or ESSE National certification such as RID, advanced BEI KQAS Level 4 or higher Certified Deaf Interpreter Qualified Video Remote Interpreter
- Experience interpreting for individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred
- Proficiency in telehealth technology and virtual communication
- Competitive pay ranging from $30-$35 per hour
