Registered Nurse School Setting - Newark, NJ

A private school in Newark, NJ is seeking a skilled RN to provide essential nursing care for a student attending a private school in Paramus. This contract role requires working specifically on Mondays and Wednesdays, supporting a student who uses a wheelchair and has a seizure management plan. The nurse will play a vital role in ensuring the student's safety and well-being throughout the school day, including accompanying the student during bus transportation.

Responsibilities

• Administer nursing care tailored to the student's medical needs, including seizure monitoring and response.
• Assist with mobility support for the student who uses a wheelchair.
• Ride the bus with the student to and from school to provide continuous health supervision.
• Collaborate with school staff and family to implement the student's care plan effectively.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of nursing interventions and observations.
  
  

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license.
• Experience working in school nursing or with pediatric patients requiring specialized care.
• Familiarity with seizure management and mobility assistance.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with the student, family, and school personnel.
