Key Responsibilities
- Manage surgical patient care through comprehensive assessments, planning, and evaluation.
- Maintain and monitor sterile fields utilizing aseptic techniques.
- Provide surgical equipment and supplies tailored to patient needs, ensuring efficient turnover.
- Perform accurate sponge, sharps, and instrument counts and document accordingly.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and environmental controls.
- Administer medications and document as per policy.
- Assist as a first assistant during surgeries, handling instruments, tissue management, hemostasis, and suturing.
- Educate patients/families and coworkers, fostering a collaborative perioperative environment.
- Utilize sterilization techniques correctly and maintain precise inventory management.
- Completion of an RNFA program aligned with AORN standards and accepted by the Competency and Credentialing Institute.
- Minimum five years of operating room experience, including circulating and scrubbing roles.
- Required experience in CVOR and EVH.
- Current Texas RN license (or compact license).
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA accepted).
- CNOR Perioperative Nursing Certificate.
- Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM 3:00 PM.
