Responsibilities
- Accurately deliver radiation therapy as prescribed by physicians, ensuring technical excellence and patient safety.
- Collaborate effectively with radiation oncology nurses, physicists, dosimetrists, and front office staff to maintain seamless patient care.
- Perform patient simulations, design custom blockings, and manage immobilization devices to optimize comfort and reproducibility.
- Maintain and update patient treatment schedules, including simulations and off-cord treatments, coordinating changes with the team.
- Conduct daily quality assurance checks on treatment machines, simulators, and CT scanners, reporting any deviations promptly.
- Process orthogonal/port films and ensure adherence to departmental protocols.
- Maintain accurate radiation therapy charges and document patient care thoroughly.
- Uphold safety procedures, proper body mechanics, and infection control practices.
- Contribute to a clean and well-stocked work environment, supporting colleagues as needed.
- Participate actively in weekly chart rounds and contribute ideas for enhancing patient and guest satisfaction.
- Demonstrate compliance with professional conduct and report any concerns or violations appropriately.
- Certified Radiation Therapist with proven experience in delivering radiation treatments.
- Strong knowledge of radiation therapy procedures, patient simulation, and dose calculations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
