A specialty retail pharmacy technician position is available for an immediate start with a 13-week contract that may transition into a permanent role. This opportunity is based in Medina, OH, and focuses on serving complex patients who typically manage 8-15 medications daily.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense medications and manage prescriptions for patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
- Provide compassionate and clear communication, especially to patients with low literacy or in vulnerable populations, including Medicare/Medicaid recipients and low-income individuals.
- Maintain strong knowledge of the top 200-400 retail drugs to support proper medication counseling and safety.
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure high-quality patient care in a specialty retail pharmacy environment.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Experience as a retail or specialty pharmacy technician, particularly with patients managing complicated medication regimens.
- Patience and strong communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse, often medically complex patient population.
- Ohio pharmacy technician license is required.
- PTCB certification is highly preferred but not mandatory.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
