Pharmacy Technician in Long Beach, CA

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1 years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A pharmacist technician opportunity is available in the Los Angeles area, supporting two hospitals approximately 20 miles apart. This role requires flexibility and adaptability to provide pharmacy services across both sites effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare intravenous (IV) medications, including IV piggybacks (IVPBs) and total parenteral nutrition (TPNs).
• Fill and manage automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis).
• Respond to telephone inquiries and communicate with nursing units.
• Deliver medications efficiently within the hospital.
• Utilize order entry systems such as Allscripts and Paragon for accurate documentation.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven inpatient pharmacy technician experience is required.
• Skilled in making IVs and filling Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets.
• Familiarity with Allscripts and Paragon order entry systems.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to work variable day and afternoon shifts.

Location:

• Positions are based in the Los Angeles area, floating between two hospitals located in Gardena and Norwalk, California.

Schedule:

• Variable day and afternoon shifts to cover the 8 week assignment.
