Pharmacy Director | Council Bluffs, Iowa

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1 years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An interim leadership opportunity is available for a Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy to support an inpatient behavioral health facility in Council Bluffs, IA. This contract position begins on 5/18 and will continue until a permanent hire is placed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6 hours per day, providing a balanced workweek with focused hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations within an inpatient behavioral health setting
• Manage medication dispensing processes, including repackaging and automated machine maintenance
• Lead and support pharmacy staff to ensure quality and compliance with regulations
• Run restock reports and maintain inventory accuracy
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to optimize pharmaceutical care
  
  

Qualifications And Desired Experience

• Active Iowa pharmacy license (IA License) required
• Prior experience with Omnicell automated dispensing systems preferred
• Familiarity with repackaging using Milt, Medi-dose, or HCL systems is highly desirable
• Basic skills in loading drugs into automated machines and running restock reports strongly valued
• Strong leadership and communication abilities to manage pharmacy operations effectively
