Online Sign Language Interpreter - NC

A part-time opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in American Sign Language (ASL) to provide telehealth services during the 2026-2027 school year. This role involves working virtually with a 4th-grade student in a one-on-one setting to support communication and learning.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate effective communication through sign language interpretation between the student and educators
• Provide ASL instruction to enhance the student's basic sign language skills
• Assist with accurate translation of educational content during telehealth sessions
• Collaborate remotely to support the student's academic progress and language development
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
• Proficient knowledge of American Sign Language and interpreting techniques
• Experience working in educational settings, preferably with elementary-level students
• Ability to deliver services effectively via virtual platforms
• Strong communication and teaching skills to support student learning
  
  

Location: Remote (Virtual), with the student based in Dobson, NC

Work Schedule

• Part-time, approximately 25-30 hours per week during the 2026-2027 academic year
