Online Sign Language Interpreter - GA

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time virtual Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) is needed to support two 6th grade students in a middle school setting. This contract position requires working Monday through Friday from 8:45 AM to 4:15 PM, providing telehealth-based interpretation services in accordance with students' educational needs.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Delivering clear and effective American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for middle school students during virtual classes
• Collaborating with teachers and school staff to facilitate communication and ensure accessibility
• Maintaining professional and confidential handling of student information
• Adhering to guidelines and best practices for telehealth and remote interpreting
  
  

Qualifications And Experience

• Current Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
• Proven experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings, preferably with middle school students
• Proficiency in American Sign Language and familiarity with educational terminology
• Comfort and competence with telehealth and virtual communication platforms
