Oncology Registered Nurse - Aurora, CO

Provide expert nursing care in a specialized Blood Cancer/Oncology unit supporting patients through critical treatments and procedures. Key Qualifications And Experience

• Registered Nurse (RN) with oncology experience, preferably with chemo and biotherapy certification
• Compassion for chronic and oncology patients, quick learner in acute care settings
• Experience with step-down unit procedures valued, including fluid bolus administration and fever protocol
• Familiarity with procedures such as lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies (with conscious sedation), and thoracentesis
• Ability to handle hazardous drugs safely if uncertified for chemo administration (education provided)
  
  

Location Details:Situated in Aurora, CO, the Blood Cancer unit is located on the 8th floor of a major medical center, featuring an 18-bed specialized oncology floor staffed by dedicated professionals. Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care with patient ratios of approximately 3-4:1
• Utilize tele, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, and Meditech EMR systems effectively
• Collaborate with a team culture focused on quality care, safety, and continuous improvement
• Administer medications, blood, and electrolyte replacements per unit policies
• Support procedures and patient comfort during invasive diagnostics
