Oncology Clinical Staff Pharmacist - Santa Barbara, CA

A prominent non-profit health system is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacy Specialist with oncology expertise to join their team in Santa Barbara, CA. Candidates with a PGY2 oncology residency or equivalent experience will thrive in this position. A California pharmacist license is not required at the time of application but must be obtained prior to starting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medication management including ordering lab tests, selecting therapy regimens, and managing adverse drug events.
• Verify chemotherapy orders and protocols to ensure accuracy, appropriate dosing, and patient safety.
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, managing chemotherapy side effects, and improving medication adherence.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during clinical rounds to optimize oncology treatment decisions.
• Participate in clinical trials and manage investigational oncology drugs.
• Develop and implement institutional oncology protocols and guidelines.
  
  

Qualifications / Desired Experience

• PharmD or BS in Pharmacy.
• Ability to obtain a California pharmacist license.
• Completion of a PGY2 oncology residency or fellowship, OR PGY1 plus 3 years clinical oncology specialist experience, OR 5 years as a clinical oncology specialist.
• Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) preferred.
