Occupational Therapist School Setting in Silver Spring, MD

A full-time Occupational Therapist is needed for a contract position in the Silver Spring, MD area, supporting students in a K-12 school setting. This role involves providing therapeutic services designed to enhance students participation in educational activities, helping them overcome physical, sensory, or cognitive challenges to succeed academically and socially.

Responsibilities Include

• Delivering individualized occupational therapy interventions and assessments in accordance with students IEP goals
• Collaborating closely with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans
• Documenting progress and maintaining compliance with school and state regulations
• Assisting in the adaptation of classroom environments and materials to meet students needs
• Participating in team meetings and contributing clinical expertise to promote inclusive educational practices
  
  

Desired Qualifications

• Current state licensure in occupational therapy
• Experience providing services in a school-based or pediatric-focused setting
• Strong knowledge of educational laws, IDEA regulations, and therapy documentation standards
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively engage with school staff and families
