Schedule
- 8-hour shifts: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, plus two Wednesdays per month as needed
- Weekend: One Saturday per month
- No holiday or on-call requirements
- Operate Nuclear Medicine equipment and perform radionuclide procedures including organ imaging and function studies
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals and prepare radioactive tracer compounds safely
- Assess radio images via PACS system ensuring diagnostic quality and proper patient identification
- Utilize systems such as NuCTrac, EPIC, ISCV Philips reporting, and Digirad camera proficiently
- Start IVs for patient testing as needed
- Perform calibration, assay radio nuclides, and inspect radiopharmaceutical packages in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Maintain accurate records of radioactive materials and uphold contamination-free conditions of rooms and equipment
- Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers considering diverse needs and adhere strictly to safety regulations (NRC, JCAHO, etc.)
- Rotate assignments between Cardiology and PET/CT as required
- Complete assigned clerical duties including scheduling and patient registration systems
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Valid NJDEP license mandatory
- Registration with ARRT or NMTCB required
- BLS certification by American Heart Association required
- Experience with cardiac nuclear stress testing and relevant imaging/reporting software
