An opportunity is available for a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist with expertise in both vascular and neuro IR procedures. This contract position is located in Grafton, WV, offering a challenging role that demands proficiency in Hemodynamic monitoring, sterile technique, and patient care during IR procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and interpret Hemodynamic parameters and continuously observe patient ECG and blood pressure during procedures.
- Prepare sterile entry sites using proper technique and maintain a sterile environment.
- Support physicians by assembling necessary supplies and scrub in for procedures, adhering to strict infection control standards.
- Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation for emergent procedures with a 30-minute callback time.
- Act as the code team member by initiating resuscitative measures under physician supervision.
- Document all procedures accurately, manage inventory, and contribute to billing processes.
- Train radiography students in clinical techniques, positioning, and equipment handling.
- Maintain and advance specialization in Neuroradiology and Vascular IR.
- Engage in performance improvement and educational opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- ARRT(R) certification and current BLS required; ACLS highly preferred.
- Experience with Canon equipment for Body/Vascular IR and Siemens Artis Q / Iconos for Neuro IR.
- Familiarity with GE ultrasound equipment.
- Strong proficiency in neuro IR procedures such as cerebral interventions, coiling, kyphoplasty, stroke therapy, and carotid stenting.
- Must have a drivers license with an address located outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
- Previous permanent candidates must have a two-year gap since last assignment; travelers must have been off assignment for two years.
Schedule & Call:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM with call requirements of 1-2 shifts per week plus every 3rd or 4th weekend.
- Some holiday call may be required.
