Home Infusion Staff Pharmacist IV Certified in Staten Island, NY

A 13-week contract opportunity is available for two pharmacists with IV certification, specializing in home infusion and general pharmacy practice. This role requires a knowledgeable professional with hands-on experience in prescription medication management and patient care.

Located in Staten Island, NY, this position offers Monday through Friday work hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a potential to transition from contract to permanent based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and prevent over-usage.
• Ensure all medications dispensed comply with legal requirements.
• Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
• Provide patient counseling on medication use, possible reactions, and answer inquiries.
• Educate patients on medical device handling such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
• Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and pharmacists to resolve drug-related issues.
  
  

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
• Current New York state pharmacy license in hand.
• Prior intravenous (IV) pharmacy experience mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of home infusion pharmacy practices.
